'Made of Honor' Review
In Made of Honor commitment phobic Tom (Patrick Dempsey) thinks he has the best of both worlds; he gets to sleep with a different girl every night and has his best friend Hannah (Michelle Monaghan) to rely on for companionship and stability. When she jets off to Scotland on a business trip he realizes how much he really cares for her and needs her in his life. He thus resolves to settle down and tell her how he truly feels about her before it becomes too late and she meets someone else. The problem is that when she returns she already has found someone else and he only has a few weeks before she ties the knot.
There are some good jokes in the film. The best being the films main gag which sees Tom playing the role of Maid of Honor for the girl he wants to be with. And both Dempsey and Monaghan are likeable in their roles, making you feel for the plight of Tom and rooting for him to win his girl back from her Princely Fiancée.
Made of Honor is pretty much your typical romantic comedy and the plot moves exactly as you’d expect, but it is a well made one and a good example of its genre.
7/10
